About us
In 1976, my mum (the girl on the left) made this chilli sauce to take to boarding school because the food was horrible and she used it to add flavour to her meals.
This chilli sauce has been in my family for 3 generations now and is our heritage. It encapsulates delicious central African cuisine where for centuries the food has remained traditional. It represents a story going back a thousand years involving Middle Eastern influences reflected in our swahili culture.
I have lived in London for almost 20 years now and noticed the lack of representation of African food in retail outlets. I sought to change this by introducing you to our family range of chilli sauces through our premium brand Neema.
Neema is the Swahili word for Grace. It is my African name and means unmerited favour. Neema will transport you to the town of Kisangani in the Oriental Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo where traditional dishes are made using a range of beautifully blended spices to bring flavour to local dishes.
Our sauces are packed with flavour! We've ensured that it is so by using only 100% natural ingredients. We've not comprised on quality so that we can have a sauce that is authentic, healthy and tasty. Our sauces are vegan too and have no added sugar so you can have a peace of mind of getting some real nutrients in your body.
I hope you will come to enjoy our sauces like our many customers who have them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
